Longer Description:
This beautifully preserved silex biface, likely used as a knife, was discovered in the village of Las Pocitas in Baja California Sur. Crafted by indigenous peoples possibly belonging to the Guyacura cultural group, the biface exhibits expert flaking on both sides, producing a sharp edge suitable for cutting or scraping.

The biface was found on a ranch by a local rancher and gifted to the current owner. Its pointed, almond-shaped form and fine retouching suggest it served as a versatile tool, perhaps used in food preparation or hide working.

Artifacts like this offer important insight into the early hunter-gatherer communities of the Baja peninsula. The Guyacuras were one of the least known yet culturally rich native groups before colonization. This object is a testament to their craftsmanship and resourcefulness.
